Your Channel
Why connect a channel
tuner.social scores difficulty relative to your channel. Connecting it gives the algorithm the baseline it compares against the top-ranking videos:
- Subscriber count — feeds the Creator Authority factor
- Engagement rate (likes ÷ views) — feeds the Engagement Gap factor
With a channel connected, "Winnable" means winnable for you. Without one, the personalized factors fall back to parity and scores are generic.
Multiple channels
Run more than one channel? Connect them all. Each channel gets its own tracked keywords, scores, and rank history — the same term can be Winnable for one of your channels and Tough for another, and you can track it on both. Switch the active channel from the dropdown in the header; every screen scopes to it. Your plan's keyword limit is shared across channels.
The profile audit
Connecting (or reconnecting) a channel runs an automatic profile audit — the mechanical checks that decide whether search can place your channel:
- Handle signals your niche — judged against the channel keywords you declared in YouTube Studio
- Bio says what you do — present, substantive, and not keyword-stuffed (an over-optimized bio fails)
- Location signal — reported as unknown, never as a failure, when YouTube has no country for the channel
- Category & keywords aligned — channel keywords declared and YouTube's topic categories assigned
Each check is pass / fix / unknown with a concrete recommendation, and audits are kept over time so you can see checks flip as you fix them. Step-by-step fixes for each check: Improve Your Profile.
What's in your channel profile
- Channel metadata — name, handle, description, country, subscriber count, video count
- The stats that personalize every difficulty score you see
How it's used
When you search a keyword in Keyword check or view a tracked keyword in the Rank Tracker, your channel's numbers are compared against the median of the top-ranking videos to produce the Creator Authority and Engagement Gap factors. The other two factors (Content Freshness, Format Match) come from the SERP itself and are the same for everyone.
Refreshing
Channel and SERP data are cached briefly and refreshed automatically. Tracked keywords are re-checked by the Rank Tracker on your plan's schedule — weekly on Free and Starter, daily on Pro and Agency.
